What GTA VI will probably have
Predictions, clearly labelled as predictions — reasoned from what every previous GTA actually did, not from leaks. Each one says why we believe it and how confident we are. When Rockstar confirms or debunks one, it moves to the tracker with a changelog entry.
- high — Strong franchise precedent plus current evidence — we'd be surprised if wrong.
- medium — Reasonable precedent or signals; genuinely uncertain.
- low — Speculative — pattern-based guess, could easily be wrong.
Story mode What single-player will let you buy, build, and earn.
Story mode has purchasable properties/safehouses with income or utility
Why: Vice City (1986 businesses generating income), San Andreas (assets), GTA V (story businesses with weekly income like Smoke on the Water, plus hangars/garages). Skipping it in the most commerce-heavy setting since Vice City would be a franchise first.
When it's confirmed: Story-mode 'best property ROI' table + payback calculator (the exact tool Darcy wished existed).
A stock-market-like system (BAWSAQ/LCN successor) exists in story mode
Why: GTA V's LCN/BAWSAQ + assassination-mission market manipulation was beloved and widely guided; it fits Vice City's crime-and-money theme. But it was also a balancing headache Rockstar never fully evolved, and no GTA since has revisited it.
When it's confirmed: Assassination-style 'market play' guides + a profit maximiser calculator — GTA V's version still drives search traffic today.
PC version arrives 12–19 months after console launch
Why: GTA V: consoles Sept 2013 → PC April 2015 (19 months). RDR2: Oct 2018 → PC Nov 2019 (13 months). The double-dip strategy is deliberate and lucrative; nothing suggests a change.
When it's confirmed: PC-readiness cluster (specs calculator, 'can my PC run it') prepared to publish the day PC is announced — that announcement day is a massive search spike.
Survival-lite systems (eating, working out affecting stats) return from San Andreas
Why: San Andreas had fat/muscle/food; leaks around VI have long hinted at more life-sim depth; RDR2 had cores/weight. But GTA V dropped it entirely and modern Rockstar may keep GTA arcade-fast.
When it's confirmed: Light-touch stat guides only — low calculator value, decent SEO curiosity traffic.
GTA Online (VI) The money systems — where calculators matter most.
GTA VI's online mode launches after single-player, not day one
Why: GTA V shipped Sept 17, 2013; GTA Online followed Oct 1 — two weeks later, deliberately staged. Red Dead Online followed RDR2 by a month. Rockstar has never launched both simultaneously; a staged launch also de-risks servers on the biggest launch in history.
When it's confirmed: Launch-window content pivots to story-mode tools first; online calculator suite ships in wave 2 with the online date countdown.
Purchasable businesses with buy-supplies → produce → sell loops return in GTA VI Online
Why: The loop has been GTA Online's core money system for 9+ years (CEO crates 2016, MC businesses 2016, Bunker 2017, Nightclub 2018, Acid Lab 2022) and drives Shark Card sales — Rockstar doesn't abandon systems that print money. Vice City's story mode invented GTA property-empire mechanics in 2002.
When it's confirmed: Our business calculator framework is already data-pack-driven — day-one calculators as soon as community measures values.
Multi-stage heists with crew cuts are a pillar of GTA VI Online
Why: Heists are the franchise's identity (V's story heists with crew-skill economics; Online's Doomsday, Casino, Cayo Perico — Cayo being the most-run money method in Online history). VI's protagonists are literally a heist duo.
When it's confirmed: Heist payout calculator with cut optimiser (crew size, skill trade-offs) — the single most-searched calculator class in GTA.
GTA+ subscription carries into GTA VI Online with member benefits
Why: GTA+ launched 2022 and Take-Two loves recurring revenue; migrating it to VI is the obvious move.
When it's confirmed: 'Is GTA+ worth it in VI' calculator (benefit value vs $ — same cost-per-hour math as our editions tool).
Premium currency (Shark Card successor) with real-money pricing tiers
Why: Shark Cards are the reason GTA Online made billions. The only question is the exchange rate.
When it's confirmed: 'Grind vs buy' calculator: your hours-per-million vs card pricing — honest math nobody else publishes cleanly.
Deep vehicle purchase/customisation economy with resale — and possibly insurance/depreciation
Why: Every GTA has vehicle culture at its core; Online added purchase/insurance/customisation. Vice City setting + car-culture era suggests doubling down; depreciation/resale realism is the speculative part.
When it's confirmed: Vehicle ROI/'worth it' index per Darcy's vision doc — profit upgrade vs cosmetic labels across the garage.
An in-game cryptocurrency or volatile digital asset exists (the old 'GTA 6 crypto' rumour)
Why: Rumoured since 2021 with zero credible sourcing; Take-Two has shown no appetite for real-crypto adjacency; a fictional volatile asset (BAWSAQ-style) is plausible, actual crypto is not.
When it's confirmed: If any volatile in-game asset exists: tracker + strategy calculator. (And the rumour itself is already a fact-check content magnet.)
Creator platform & servers The Roblox-shaped question: who gets to build and sell.
GTA VI gets an official creator platform with community servers under Rockstar's control
Why: Rockstar acquired Cfx.re (FiveM) in 2023, runs the Cfx Marketplace, is hiring Creator Platform roles, and is reportedly talking to Roblox/Fortnite UGC creators about GTA 6 custom experiences [reported Feb 2025+].
When it's confirmed: GTAServerTools activates: operator calculators (costs, official rev-share math), compliance checklists, and the tool directory pointing into the official marketplace.
Paid creator content flows only through Rockstar's official marketplace (no third-party sales)
Why: That's the existing Cfx Creator Platform License rule today, and the entire acquisition-and-hiring pattern points to Rockstar owning the economy end-to-end, Roblox-style.
When it's confirmed: Directory ships in 'official-only' mode: free discovery, reviews and trust signals that link to official listings — the independent layer, not a competing store.
Roleplay mechanics are built into GTA VI Online natively (jobs, character life, server rules)
Why: RP is FiveM's killer use-case (its biggest servers dwarf many standalone games); Rockstar bought the team that runs it and reports point to an RP-influenced Online. But integrating RP officially is a big design bet they may stage over years.
When it's confirmed: RP-side tools: server finder/comparison, whitelist application helper, job/economy guides per major server.
Predictions are the fun cousin of our confirmed-vs-rumour tracker — when Rockstar makes one of these real (or kills it), it graduates there with a changelog entry. Last reviewed: 2026-07-06.
